Lightning Alert System
The Wheeling Park District is equipped with a sferic siren alerting system. Here are what the sounds and strobe lights mean.
- ONE LONG 15-SECOND HORN BAST – Lightning has been detected – Guests must seek shelter.
- STROBE FLASHING – Lightning in Area Alert – Guests must seek shelter
- THREE SHORT 5-SECOND HORN BLASTS – All Clear – It is safe to resume outdoor activities.
